Elton John anuncia lançamento de box comemorativo

Os 50 anos de carreira de Elton John serão celebrados com a edição de uma caixa de 8 discos, anunciou o cantor nesta quinta-feira (17). Previsto para chegar ao mercado em 13 de novembro, o lançamento já recebeu uma prévia: o single ‘Sing Me No Sad Songs’ (ouça abaixo).

Intitulada “Jewel Box”, a coletânea apresenta raridades, demos, lados B e clássicos do artista – incluindo a canção vencedora do Oscar ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’, feita por John e Taron Egerton para a cinebiografia ‘RocketMan’.

“Foi um verdadeiro prazer mergulhar em cada período da minha carreira com tantos detalhes para a Jewel Box”, disse John em um comunicado.

“Ouvindo essas faixas perdidas de novo, acho difícil compreender o quão prolíficos [o letrista] Bernie [Taupin] e eu éramos durante os primeiros dias. As músicas simplesmente saíram de nós, e a banda [Bluesology] era simplesmente inacreditável no estúdio”, acrescentou.

Dividida em quatro partes – ‘Deep Cuts’, ‘Rarities’, ‘B-sides’ e ‘And This Is Me’ –, a caixa estará disponível em diversos formatos, incluindo um conjunto de quatro LPs e um livro de capa dura. Também estará disponível para download digital e serviços de streaming.
